Embracing the Journey: Island Resets, Business Growing Pains, and Finding Focus in September

Life rarely moves in a neat, straight line. More often than not, it pulls us across unexpected paths, shifting horizons, and winding detours before we even realize how far we have traveled. In a culture conditioned to chase only the finish line, it is easy to forget that the real magic, the resilience, and the character-building always happen along the way.

From Island Breezes to Logistical Growing Pains

A few weeks ago, we found ourselves in Sint Maarten, surrounded by turquoise waters, warm Caribbean winds, and a rhythm of life that gently demanded I slow down. Stepping away from the day-to-day routine offered a clarifying breath of fresh air. It served as a grounding reminder of why building a flexible life matters so much in the first place—to give ourselves room to experience the world with presence and gratitude.

Yet, returning home brought an abrupt collision with reality. I plunged headfirst into a massive backend business project: transitioning my existing Amazon listings from Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) to Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA).

If you have ever waded into the weeds of Seller Central, you know how steep that learning curve can feel. Sorting through barcode compliance, box prep guidelines, inventory workflows, and shipping rules tested every ounce of my patience. But right in the thick of the frustration, I had to laugh and practice what I preach: this friction, too, is part of the journey. Untangling the messy operational logistics today is what builds long-term freedom and unlocks the capacity to finish the year strong.

Grounding Down for Autumn

As the calendar turns to September, we stand on the threshold of a new season. Autumn gently reminds us that transitions are both natural and necessary. Just as trees gracefully shed their leaves to prepare for new life, we are invited to release self-doubt, old habits, and the limiting stories that weigh down our steps.

This month, I am holding fast to a sunflower mindset—standing tall, rooted, and intentionally absorbing positive light, regardless of the storms or logistical snags along the way. Heading into the final quarter of the year does not mean frantically sprinting to achieve everything overnight. Instead, it is about small, deliberate choices that quietly build powerful, lasting momentum.

Savoring the Unfolding Path

Wherever this month finds you—whether you are enjoying a well-deserved breakthrough, navigating your own messy back-office hurdles, or simply trying to catch your breath—remember that your worth is not tied exclusively to reaching the destination. Trust your own pace. Give yourself permission to pause, speak kindly to your inner self, and cherish who you are becoming in this very chapter.

And if you find yourself feeling a little stuck, overwhelmed, or unheard amidst the noise, remember that you do not have to carry the load in isolation. I have opened up a handful of dedicated office hours this month, and there is always space reserved if you need an empathetic ear to help untangle your next steps.
